notes 10.5 and 10.6

10.5 Segment Lengths In Circles
Theorem 10.15: 2 chords intersect in a circle. The product of the segments of one chord are equal to the product of th segments of the other chord
Theorem 10.16: 2 secants with the same endpoint. The product of the external and internal segments of a secant is equal to the product of the other secants segments.
Theorem 10.17: If a secant and a tangent segment share a point outside the circle, the product of the segments of the secant is equal to the tangent segment squared.

10.6 Equations of Circles

r= radius (h,k) is the coordinate of the center (x,y) is any pt on the circ.

sq root((x-h)2 + (y-k)2) = r or in standard form (x-h)2 + (y-k)2 = r2
(all 2's should be exponents!!!!!!!!!)
If the center of the circle is the origin, the equation is x2 + y2 = r2
